Orianna, the Clockwork Girl is the latest champion to wind up on the
League of Legends Season One circuit, and Riot Games has just released her skill and abilities. This damage/support specialist looks like a flavorful addition to the roster, able to assist her allies and wreak havoc on the battlefield with her pet ball.
Let's look at Orianna's abilities -
Passive - Clockwork Windup: Orianna's autoattacks deal additional magic damage every hit, subsequent attacks on the same target within a few seconds will add more damage per hit. This bonus stacks up to three times.
Command - Attack: Orianna commands her ball to fly towards target location, dealing damage to targets hit but doing reduced damage for each additional target hit. Her ball remains behind at that location afterwards.
Command - Dissonance: Orianna commands her ball to emit a magnetic pulse, dealing damage to units around it. Afterwards, the ball leaves a field behind for a few seconds that speeds up allies and slows enemies.
Command - Protect
- (Passive): The allied champion the ball is attached to gains bonus Armor and Magic Resistance.
- (Active): Orianna commands her ball to fly to and attach onto an allied champion, dealing damage to enemies it passes through and shielding the allied champion when it arrives.
Ultimate - Command - Shockwave: Orianna commands her ball to emit a shockwave after a short delay, flinging affected enemies in the vicinity into the air a set distance towards, and possibly over, her ball.
Orianna is going to require careful positioning of both herself and The Ball during a League of Legends match, as using Orianna correctly relies on being able to get your robotic companion to the right place at the right time.
Able to snare, protect, damage, and cause absolute havoc in team fights with her ultimate ability, Orianna looks like an incredibly useful companion for teams looking to utilize AOE abilities to create uncomfortable situations for the opposition.
You're probably wondering how Shockwave works, as the description is rather vague - enemies on the outer edge of the ability will be sucked into the middle, and ones in the middle of it will be shot to the outer edge.
This allows you to pull those squishies in the back to the front, and place
Shen and his tanky friends in the back so your team can get down to business.
Orinna looks like she'll be a "ball.. to play, a veritable "automaton.. of fun with her board positioning schematics and style, so look for her to be coming to the League of Legends as the next addition to the champion cast!
