MapleStory launches Aftershock update

Nexon has launched the next follow-up to its Big Bang update for MapleStory, called "Aftershock."

One of the major features released in the update is the ability for players with level 120 Cygnus Knights to create an Ultimate Explorer character. These characters start at level 50, letting player skip ahead past the early levels.

Also introduced in the update:

• Two new Cygnus Knight skills: Empress' Shout and Empress' Prayer
• Improvements to the guild system, including lowered starting fees, guild rankings, and guild skills
• A new raid instance against the Red Lion King, Von Leon
