Tough men, steel, and hot chicks:
Splitscreen Studios to release Steel Legions
Start of Closed beta for new 3D browser game from Splitscreen Studios
Hamburg, Germany, March 07, 2011 - Games developer Splitscreen Studios from Hamburg, Germany announces the release of a new project,
Steel Legions. The launch of the 3D browser game is planned for the second quarter of 2011. The closed beta phase has just started; those interested are invited to sign up at the official website.
In an alternate past, steel, steam, and oil have become essential resources for the military forces of the age: gigantic steel colossi weighing several tons, steered by half a dozen men and women. These machines maintain the balance of power between the four largest empires. But machines require fuel - which is a scarce commodity.
In tactical battles against rival teams, players get to showcase their strategic skills. The game environment can be cleverly used to benefit the player. A vehicle on high ground, for instance, will have increased firing power and range. On the other hand, craters and canyons offer better protection against attacking enemies. Other elements that provide players with tactical options during missions include bridges, barriers, turrets, and various buildings.
Of course, along with fast and dynamic PvP missions, long-term construction and upgrades to your own troops' equipment must be taken into account as well. By replacing individual components of
Steel Legions combat vehicles, such as chassis, drive mechanism, and armour, as well as primary and secondary weapons, players get to customise their vehicles and influence their combat attributes.
The game concept focuses especially on beginner-friendliness, simple controls, and a high degree of freedom during the course of the game.
Steel Legions will initially be available in English. Localisation into German, French, Spanish, and Italian is underway.
