Heroes of Gaia announces Ascension expansion

Heroes of Gaia publisher Snail Games USA has announced the next free expansion in its browser-based strategy game: Heroes of Gaia: Ascension.

The new expansion will add five new Fame levels to achieve: The Immortal, Doom Messenger, Death Messenger, Lord of Chaos, and Lord of Order. Two new high-level co-op instances with epic gear drops will be added for players to explore as well.

Players and guilds will be able to hire temporary "mercenary" Heroes for assistance in battle for the first time. A new "Command Style" system also lets players focus a specific development path in their Castles (Militant, Prolific, or Preventative), improving city management.

A new Vagabond Camp, Equipment Sundering and Enchanting, a Castle building upgrade, Rebellion Quashing, and a redesigned new player experience are also listed in the expansion's features. Mark Hill, Snail Games USA Director of Operations, hints this is only "the first of two major expansions we have planned."

The expansion will launch on March 10th.
