Analyzing MMO Genres: RTS vs Strategy vs Simulation

There are many strategy MMOs out there that exist as well as RTS MMOs. The question is, how to tell the difference?
RTS
RTS MMOs involve Real-Time Strategy tactics. You are creating a strategy that will enable your character or your kingdom to survive against other enemy forces. This applies in a "Real-Time" setting where there is a time limit set on how who attacks first, who defends second, and how long it takes to fight and then retreat. So you have to create a strategy on who is going to fight with you and what resources you are going to take.
Strategy
Strategy MMOs cover a whole variety of sub-strategy genres, the more common ones being RTS and Simulation. It's pretty self-explanatory: strategy MMOs involve creating a strategy that will help you win. Strategy MMOs are different from RPGs because unlike RPGs, strategy MMOs involve your character or your kingdom being soley in one place at one time. You have to plan out what you are going to do each step of the way. In an RPG, you are open to the world. You can go wherever you want...it's like living in a virtual world. Strategy MMOs are like the simpler versions of regular RPG MMOs. There are many ways in which strategy and RPG MMOs are the same, however you will always find that the gameplay of both genres are different.
Simulation
Simulation MMOs require a lot of critical thinking. I never played many simulation games but from my own perspective, simulation MMOs are based on very strict algorithms that you have to follow. You play by specific rules in order to win.
