German browser game developer InnoGames managed to continue its steady growth throughout the first half of 2013, and increased turnover by more than 60 percent compared to 2012, when it managed the best result since it was founded. "Despite increased competition and harsher market conditions, we're on course for another record year... confirms InnoGames Founder and CEO Hendrik Klindworth. Employing over 250 international professionals and currently looking for new colleagues to fill more than 40 positions, InnoGames will also move to the center of Hamburg in spring 2014. The new headquarters provides space for up to 500 employees. The success is especially noteworthy in the wake of InnoGames' restructuring as a cross-platform company. The mobile versions of the successful games Grepolis and Forge of Empires are planned to be released in Q3 and Q4 respectively. "Cross-Platform is a very important step for us, as it allows player retention as well as an introduction of our established brands to new audiences. We also have two unannounced titles in production, our first games that were developed as cross-platform right from the beginning. At least one of them will be released in 2013... says Klindworth. Armin Busen, Chief Financial Officer at InnoGames, adds: "The 60 percent increase in turnover is due to the long-term appeal of our games... Especially Forge of Empires, ‘best browser game' at this year's German Computer Games Award performed extraordinarily strong, racking up more than 10 million registrations in its first year. "But it is not only thanks to Forge of Empires, which has already exceeded our high expectations, but our established games as well. Thanks to an amazingly loyal and dedicated community, Grepolis, The West and of course Tribal Wars have experienced some of their strongest months ever.., remarks Busen. Tribal Wars, the company's first game which started off as a hobby project, recently celebrated its tenth anniversary as well as its 50 millionth registered player. Klindworth points out: "The success of our company has always been based on players being dedicated to our games. From the very beginnings until today, we keep in close contact with our communities, trying to make them feel as part of the game, opposite to consumers of our product... With 100 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world’s leading developers and providers of online games. The Hamburg-based company has scored major successes with games such as Tribal Wars, The West and Forge of Empires. 19 total views, 2 views today |
