Hamburg, August 14, 2013. Today, popular online game Forge of Empires turns its classic European cities into the construction site of a sun-soaked, tropical empire – to celebrate the last days of summer. Publisher InnoGames just launched the summer event in all country versions to include unique buildings for the season, like a festive beach bar and a towering sandcastle. A new quest-line rewards players with tickets that can be used to spin the wheel of fortune, full of prizes like these exclusive buildings and many other bonus items, including blueprints, premium buildings and vanity objects. The event runs for three weeks, ending on the 4th of September.
A neighborhood shares one wheel with limited numbers of each winnable item. Players have the option of changing the available item set for their community if they don't like what they see. As an added benefit, once the wheel has been spun 77 times, all players in the neighborhood are gifted medals.
Forge of Empires is a browser-based strategy game, where players, tasked with leading their own city to prosperity can research new technologies, build impressive historical buildings and enlarge their sphere of influence through military campaigns and skillful dealing. The game has recently been awarded the title of "Best Browser Game 2013.. at the German Computer Game Award (Deutscher Computerspielpreis).
With about 100 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world’s leading developers and providers of online games. The Hamburg-based company has scored major successes with games such as Tribal Wars, The Westand Grepolis.
