GAMES had the pleasure of interviewing Andrea Onwiler, Marketing Assistant at Gala-net regarding their newest expansion to their MMO Rappelz, Epic 7.2: Dimensions.
1. First and foremost, congratulations in this upcoming expansion!" How do you guys feel as a team about this new expansion for Rappelz?
Thank you! "We are really excited to bring Epic 7.2: Dimensions to our players! "We are especially pleased with the revamped user interface and improved repair system. "Item durability is now much easier to see, and repairing items can be handled with a single click.
2. This new expansions unveils a new Rank 6 dungeon." Can you tell us a little bit more about this new dungeon and how it will impact players?
The new dungeon, called the Vault of Lies, is part of an epic quest line that culminates in a climactic showdown with the evil Pope Lucian and his horrifying experiments. "Along the way, players will save a powerful, genetically engineered girl that will aid them as they fight through hordes of enemies.
3. What are the new monsters like in this expansion? Are they a specific level range? Are they a lot stronger than the monsters currently in the game?
The new monsters are mostly between levels 140 and 185 and are largely located in the Vault of Lies. "Priests controlling ancient elemental magic, knights wielding massive two-handed swords, and twisted experimental abominations are just some of the powerful creatures players will face.
4. What about the new armor sets? What are they like in terms of appearance?" Do the new armor sets have any special attributes that players will like?
Two new spectacular armor sets will be available with this expansion." The Ergon Cratos set can only be obtained in the Vault of Lies and adds a slew of stat bonuses when all three pieces are equipped. The Stormguard Armor set is a spiked suit created by combining items collected from monsters on the Veiled Island. "Players will be able to include one of eleven different crystals to the combination, adding specific stat bonuses to the suit as well.
5. The new combat pet, Ice Maiden, will be release in this expansion along with the new dungeon." Can you tell us more about the Ice Maiden?
The Ice Maiden is a pet that all players will be able to receive upon completing the new Veiled Island quest line. ""In addition to attacks that slow down enemy movement speed, special spells allow her to increase her owner’s magical attack power and casting speed.
6. Something noticeable about this expansion is the Pet Stable System, which allows players to level their pet while away or offline." This is a feature not many MMOs have." How was the team able to implement such a feature into the game?" What was the idea behind this?
With the large number of different pets in Rappelz, players have always wanted to collect more pets than they have time to level. The pet stable is a great way to let players level all the pets they want without feeling like they have to waste time those that are too low level to contribute.
7. Anything else that is new to the game that will allow players to navigate and play the game more efficiently?
Dimensions adds an expansion to the belt slot system allowing players to unlock up to six belt slots, each of which can be equipped with special creature cards to enhance stats!" In addition, there are new rare boss cards to hunt that have amazing stat bonuses and unique effects.
8. What else would you like to tell your players?
A lot of effort has been put into making the new quest lines really stand out." We look forward to seeing everyone explore the Veiled Island and the mysteries that lie between dimensions.
