According to a report over at Gamespot, Fallout Online is slated to be ready for beta testing in the first quarter of 2012 and will be ready for commercial release in late 2012. The news was delivered via Edge Magazine in an interview with Interplay president Eric Caen. Caen mentioned that the game will arrive despite the legal wrangling between Bethesda and Interplay.
“Fallout 3 was a little bit too serious–that’s definitely not where we’re going. Our Fallout MMOG will be extremely funny,” Caen said. “An MMOG must be a lot deeper than a stand-alone game. It’s not a shooting game we’re making. You can shoot, but it’s a very small portion of the game. The game itself is about reconstructing the world.”
