World of Warcraft really wants you to be guilded." Raiding and rated battlegrounds nearly require a guild membership." Not to mention, there’s a little bit of a stigma surrounding unguilded folks." With that being said, and whether or not you agree with said stigma, WoW is getting a guild finder.

This Guild Finder will make it easier for unguilded players to find a guild that suits them." It also allows guilds to recruit without spamming trade chat." Sure, trade chat will still suck, but there’s a slim (emphasis on slim) chance that a Guild Finder will mean less spam from recruiting guilds.

The Guild Finder will function as a 24-hour “bulletin board” for those searching for new members or looking for a guild." The Guild Finder consists of the “Settings,” “Browse,” and “Requests” tabs." The “Settings” area lets you select your play style, availability, roles, and add a comment." From here you can browse guilds that meet those requirements." A guild leader uses the “Settings” tab to tell players looking for a guild about their guild and what it is looking for." The “Browse” area lets you browse all guilds that are recruiting while the “Requests” tabs holds your requests to guilds, or, as a guild leader, requests from players looking to join your guild.

It’s a system that’s long overdue for a game that prefers you be in a guild." Hopefully, it will make the recruitment process easier for everyone.
