Picaroon, a free-to-play 3D MMORTS developed by Nice Technology, has been released worldwide for the PC today through Blitz 1UP.

The game is set in a world covered by water, in which players must struggle for control through fighting strategic naval battles, supports up to 500 players at once. New territories can be found and conquered, and features three styles of play – skirmishes, classics, and persistent games – letting players choose the depth of time and strategy they wish to use.

Blitz 1UP Producer Neil Holmes commented that Picaroon “kicks all sorts of crazy ass,” and that their team is excited to help launch the game.
